i like to keep them kind of like... idk, least human as possible.

So yeah I follow onto the theory that vampyres bite somebody and they turn. what the vampyre does is they can choose whether they want the person to become a vampyre or not. if they do choose, then the human will be injected with a venom that will leave them paralyzed for several weeks while the Change is occuring. it is then that vampyre's duty to watch over the body until the Change has completed. The Change includes an enlargement in the canines (meaning, yes, fangs), their skin becomes light blue like dead people, change in eye color (vampyres have a strange eye color, which is blue mixed with purple and green tints. when the light hits them at certain angles, the eyes can change to green with blue and purple tints or purple with blue and green tints) and change in hair color. all parts of the body are shut down except for the constant feeding for blood, which keeps the body looking both beautiful while also feeding a vampyre's hunger. vampyres can't, of course, stay in lighting or else they will burn away until they are nothing but dust.

now, while vampyres are extremely beautiful, this is nothing but a mirage for their victims to see. victims, human or inhuman, can become entranced by the vampyre's eyes and slowly lured in. the victim's only chance of escape is if they notice the one imperfection in the vampyre, which could be a freckle that didn't clear during the Change, or a scar, etc. then, the mask is unraveled and the vampyre shows its true form- a corpse constantly feeding on blood to stay alive. a vampyre's true form is often emaciated, with papery brown, wrinkly skin and all black eyes. once a vampyre's true form is shown, the victim can break free of the trance and run to hide, although that would be hard since the vampyre, although skinny and terrible looking, is swift and strong.

Delphine is the empress of the vampyres, and has been living since the times of Cain and Abel. although changed at the young age of 15, she became a main seductress and a brutal killer, best with her sneaking ways to escape forces of law. she tempts human men to kill for her and bring the blood for her to feast upon, then once she is done with her human male slave, she either turns him or she kills him off. with her cunning and clever wit, she earned a spot on the council of vampyres, then was nominated as empress. she has been empress of the vampyres for five centuries, an impressive long rate since, although vampyres are still human-like, they lack in human emotions, and they tend to fight like animals. most vampyre emperors/empresses are killed after a 3 century rule. no one knows how delphine manages to maintain her position as empress.
